John Mayall - vocals, guitar, keyboards, harmonica
Mick Taylor - guitar
John McVie - bass

This show was billed as something like "John Mayall and the ORIGINAL Bluesbreakers", which of course was completely incorrect. I guess the promoter was trying to draw as many ill-informed American fans to the show as he could. Still, no one was complaining, with superstar former Bluesbreakers like Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones) and John McVie (Fleetwood Mac) in the band for this tour.

This show was a double bill also featuring Mick Taylor and his band. Ironically, Mick used to be the guitar player in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers before he joined the Rolling Stones. Mayall's band lineup of this particular concert has left an indelible impression upon me however, as Walter Trout's guitar amplifier blasted searing lick after searing lick directly into my right ear all night, leaving me with impaired hearing in that ear to this day. If you ever see Walter play live (he has gone on to an excellent solo career) be sure to wear earplugs, or at least DON'T stand near his amp! His screaming guitar tone could cripple you, like staring into the sun!!
