Ben is Finland's answer to american "guitar slingers" like Joe Satriani, Steve Morse, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, etc. His musical influences include many classic rock heavy bands like Deep Purple, Whitesnake, AC/DC, and Black Sabbath of which all can be heard in the "medley" song on his LIVE album. His own compositions leaned originally towards instrumental guitar rides ala Joe Satriani or Jeff Beck but lately he has shifted gears towards less instrumental compositions and more vocal oriented songs. All of his music has a common thread of great instrumental playing, including his backup band. I became a fan thanks to seeing him perform live opening up for Wishbone Ash in 1999, and was mighty impressed. Ben and his band have toured as an opening act in Europe for many established bands like Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Thin Lizzy, and his legion of followers grows with every performance.
