Note: Roger Filgate was ill and in keeping with the "show must go on sentinment", a suitable replacement was found in the 17 year-old fingers of Chris Auld. Chris and his brother Steve had already performed at several AshCons doing Wishbone tribute sets and their own material, and being familiar with the Ash songs was the only logical choice. Upon getting the news that the band were in need of a replacement guitarist for the evening, the lad's father Billy is rumored to have replied something like "I'm not sure he'll want to as he's tied up in Chemistry class at the moment...". As it turned out, Chris was more than willing to leave his studies behind for a day, and he filled in admirably at Roger's spot stage-left (or is that stage-right?).

Chris Auld Tony and Chris Michael Sturgis Andy Powell introduces Chris to the crowd. The lads pause for a refreshment break. Thanks Chris ! Back for the encore, Chris goes toe to toe with Andy Powell on 'Hard Times'. Needless to say, the crowd wanted more.... This club had an amazingly complex lighting system. A complete throwback to 70's era disco with continually flashing lights changing colors all throughout the concert. This made photo taking nearly impossible as soon as an exposure was set the lights completely switched to another color ! One of the light towers did make a comfortable perch for me to view the concert high above the crowd on the floor. This was the tower from which I watched the show and caused Tony to introduce me as the 'American in the go-go cage'.

The club was too crowded for me to get any concert shots, but I have a good one of the stage and Mike playing bongos backstage after the show.
