Unfortunately my 35mm Canon SLR camera went on the fritz the first show I attended, so I only got a few concert shots of this tour. My little point and shoot portable Olympus camera held up though, and I did take many behind the scenes photos of people letting their hair down of which I will post a few here. This tour had several Yanks besides me on the road with the band which made for some traveling fun, but unfortunately one of us ended up in the hospital for most of the trip with kidney stones (not me) !! All in all a very memorable week+ on the road highlighted by a killer flu making its way around the band and the American followers, the kidney stones, and also snow-bound driving to contend with --- but I wouldn't trade these memories for anything....

- AshCon, Lesiure Centre, Mansfield, England 11/17/96 -

Acoustic session in the afternoon with Andy and Roger. Mike and Martin during the meet the fans Question and Answer session. Martin saying 'Hi'. Martin Turner during the concert in the evening. Mike Sturgis The American contingent gets the thumbs up from Andy. The legendary Dr. John of USA fanclub fame anchors this photo in the center !

- The Stables, Milton Keynes, England 11/19/96 -

Those of us then spending the night in Milton Keynes waited over an hour in the middle of nowhere for our taxi to pick us up whilst freezing our butts off. Thoughts of freezing to death or being eaten by wild animals crossed my mind. Finally we were rescued though.

- The Beachcomber, Cleethorpes, England 11/19/96 -

Americans raise a pint of bitter in salute to life on the road. Meeting the fans and selling Ash-wares at Cleethropes. Martin with a family of fans, two brothers, and one of their sons.

- Victoria Theatre, Halifax, England 11/20/96 -

The previous year the concert here in Halifax was unable to take place due to car troubles and the hotel bar was the only Ash action in town. This year the concert went on as planned, along with the obligatory bar gathering.

- The Cellar Club, South Shields, England 11/22/96 -

Tony Kishman arrived on the scene for this concert but did not play with the band until the following evening in Market Harboro, when Martin Turner had to return to London for other commitments.

Soundcheck/jam with Martin and Roger. Mike later picked up a guitar and joined in on an acoustic jam too ! Note Andy's flying V in the corner getting a tune-up. The V gets its oil changed by Nick. Set list for the evening's show. Chris Brennan introduces the band for the start of the show - 'Welcome to the attic...'. Mega-fan Graham and his scarf say it all. Webmaster Leon tells Tony about one that got away. Yes, this woman asked both Martin and Andy to sign her shirt whilst still wearing it. Happy Holidays from the Ash family.
