USA Late Winter/Early Spring

Usually touring around the northeast & midwest of the USA in late February through early March can be asking for trouble - in the form of late winter snowstorms. But at least for the gigs I was able to get to, the weather had taken a surprising upwards turn & we had some afternoons of 60 degrees plus. It wasn't to last though as wet winter weather came back towards the end of the tour - here's hoping the band muddled through ok.
The first show I saw was at the beautiful Sellersville Theater 1894 (so named because it was around back in 1894!). This was one of the best places I've ever seen them, a beautiful little place with movie theater style seating, recently refurbished in a very tasteful style. And practically in my backyard! Definitely the closest they've ever played to where I live. Hopefully they will be back here again, the show was a sellout, the place was run very well making it a very hassle-free experience for all concerned & ASH is very much welcome to return!

This place was certainly unique! An old schoolhouse now hosting some concert dates. The band setup in the back of the room on the floor, no stage per se, with the crowd sitting in folding chairs in front of them. Nice vibe, great sound, very informal down home type of gig.
The photo lab screwed up most of my photos and printed them in "panoramic" format! Which gave most of them a very grainy look and strange 360 degree feel. A few came out OK...
USA Fall of 2004 - DEBUT TOUR WITH MUDDY MANNINEN

Alas, Ben Granfelt left the band at the end of the Fall 2004 UK tour. The end of the "Wishben Ash" era. To fill Ben's shoes, the guys' chose one of Ben's guitar mentors and early fellow guitarslinger in the band Gringos Locos, Muddy Manninen.
This show was a return visit to the Sellersville Theater 1894, and only Muddy's fourth gig with the band!
Unfortunately I did not bring my telephoto or zoom lenses so these shots are bit further backish than they should be - dammit! I was up front on Bob's side and got some nice shots of Bob but not much of anyone else.
